RBC03 and New Rubber!!

Published by cwilliams under RBC Cards, Rubbernecker, cards

Hello, I’ve been playing and having so much fun with some new rubber that will be released on April 1st at Rubbernecker Stamp Co… a line of stamps called KK Originals and what fabulous stamps they are!! Today you will be able to see previews of some of the images available, by visiting the blogs of the Rubbernecker Design Team. We’ve all made samples using KK Originals for the Rubbernecker Blog Challenge today. Here is my first sample for ya using this cute dragonfly and the colors for the RBC03 challenge…. Pink, Lavender and Green. The dragonfly is stamped on shimmer white cs, colored in with Copic markers. I then masked the dragonfly and airbrushed the bg with a mixture of lavender dye ink, Perfect Pearls and water….very shimmery!! The bubbles have stickles glitter glue and the wings have glossy accents on them….sparkle and shine!!! I used some Basic Grey pattern paper from the Romani line. The ribbon is bubble gum twill which I got here. The sentiment is a pre-printed vellum sheet which I have had forever and ever…..just now getting around to using it….thought it was perfect for this card. I placed a purple rhinestone on each side of the sentiment. I’m loving these colors and this card makes me very happy!!

Limited Supplies Challenge

Published by cwilliams under Challenge cards, cards

Hello and Happy Good Friday!!

Today on Splitcoast is the limited supplies challenge and I had some time to play, with new *rubber* from Rubbernecker. These stamps are so cute and so much fun to color!!
DIRECTIONS: Make 2-4 cards using the SAME stamps, designer paper, and color scheme. Things that can change to make each card unique are layouts, tools and accessories. The main idea is to get many different looks using the same stamps, designer paper, and colors. It can also show the importance of tools, embellishments, and layouts on cards… how it can really make a card great and how it can really change the look of an image for a totally new card.

STAMPS
3-4 stamps

CARDSTOCK & INK
white or vanilla
one piece of designer paper (If it’s double sided, you can use both prints!)
1-2 additional solid colors of cardstock

TOOLS & EMBELLISHMENTS
*any*

Here are the cards I did for the LSC160

LSC160

Supplies used

Stamps: Stamp Oasis Fantasy Section from Rubbernecker, #35 SO JB Laughter, 36 SO JB Dreams

Paper: Pattern Paper Scraps from my scrap bin?, PTI White, Basic Grey Gypsy

Ink: Black Brilliance

Accessories: Pumpkin Twill Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Bazzill Flowers, Brads, Copic Markers, Copic Spica Glitter Pens

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

March Dirty Challenge

Published by cwilliams under Challenge cards, cards

Hello, every month the SCS Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni get together to do a fun challenge. Here’s this months:

Challenge Focus: Use one of the oldest stamp sets you own along with embellishments and supplies you’ve had for what seems like forever.

Required Element: RAK - you must mail your card out as a RAK on 3/20 to any DD/DDA - could be a birthday, get well, thinking of you, invite to come play with us, congratulations or just totally random no particular reason RAK. You do not need to tell us who you mailed your card to. For all addresses see the SMAK the DD thread.

Restricted Element: No stamps, tools, or supplies purchased or obtained within the last 6 months.

Bonus Challenge: Use a technique or style you haven’t used in a long time, but was a favorite at some point in your stamping past.

I chose to use Touch of Nature, this is one of my very favorite stamp sets I will never part with it no matter how old it gets!!

I used Basic Grey Lily Kate pattern paper. I enhanced the pattern paper by putting a dot of white paint in the middle of all the pink flowers, the pink flowers are covered with glossy accents and the green branch was made darker with a watercolor pencil. All images are stamped on watercolor paper in Brilliance coffee bean ink, watercolored with watercolor pencils and an aqua brush. The sentiment was stamped on the pattern paper and sponged with regal rose, close to cocoa ink as were all the block pieces of the main image panel. All the images are popped up on foam mounting tape for dimension. The butterfly antennas are hemp, I also did hemp stitching and the flower is tied with hemp.
