March Dirty Challenge
Hello, every month the SCS Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni get together to do a fun challenge. Here’s this months:
Challenge Focus: Use one of the oldest stamp sets you own along with embellishments and supplies you’ve had for what seems like forever.
Required Element: RAK - you must mail your card out as a RAK on 3/20 to any DD/DDA - could be a birthday, get well, thinking of you, invite to come play with us, congratulations or just totally random no particular reason RAK. You do not need to tell us who you mailed your card to. For all addresses see the SMAK the DD thread.
Restricted Element: No stamps, tools, or supplies purchased or obtained within the last 6 months.
Bonus Challenge: Use a technique or style you haven’t used in a long time, but was a favorite at some point in your stamping past.
I chose to use Touch of Nature, this is one of my very favorite stamp sets I will never part with it no matter how old it gets!!
I used Basic Grey Lily Kate pattern paper. I enhanced the pattern paper by putting a dot of white paint in the middle of all the pink flowers, the pink flowers are covered with glossy accents and the green branch was made darker with a watercolor pencil. All images are stamped on watercolor paper in Brilliance coffee bean ink, watercolored with watercolor pencils and an aqua brush. The sentiment was stamped on the pattern paper and sponged with regal rose, close to cocoa ink as were all the block pieces of the main image panel. All the images are popped up on foam mounting tape for dimension. The butterfly antennas are hemp, I also did hemp stitching and the flower is tied with hemp.
