Blog Candy!!!

Man…..am I tired this week. I helped a lady I work with this week with her clients, plus my own…..she took a trip to Las Vegas for 6 days. I just kept telling myself it’s just for this week to get me through the long hours….lol!!

Okay on to the blog candy, who wants some???

    I just love lilacs - they are so pretty, they smell wonderful and the bushes/trees make a wonderful hedge. Some of my favorite childhood memories involved playing in the lilacs. And my dad always cut branches from the lilacs and shaved off one end to use for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows — yum.

    Peonies! My Great Grandma had a big plant, and my Grandma took a cutting from it and therefore had a peony plant in her yard my whole life. She just passed away and I didn’t get a cutting of the plant before she passed. Every time I see a peony I think of her. Thanks for the chance (and for the tears! LOL - not your fault I’m still bawling about her!).

    like michelle, i love peonies! there were peony bushes growing in the front yard my whole life. when my mom died, my sisters and i dug up a shrub and divided the root stock. now we each have peonies from 100 year old plants! they are so wonderful! thanks for the chance at some blog candy!

    It has been fun reading through the responses and saying “Oh yeah, I like those too!!” But when I first read the question my first thought was Lilacs! I love the color the shape of them and the smell.

    Favorite flower? That’s pretty hard to decide on just one. I love hollyhocks because they remind me of my Grandma. So tall and strong.

    My all time favorite flower is the Daisy…ever since I was a little girl it has always been my favorite. At my wedding I had them everywhere. It was always my dads favorite also. (May he RIP)

    Seems like everybody is talking flowers this weekend. My favorite has always been gladiola, especially in a soft coral color. They have such a nice soft frilly look, like a cocktail dress. Just lovely :)

    My favorite flower is the lilac. First of all, they were my mom’s favorite flower. She died when I was 14 and it is a nice reminder of her and something that she loved. Second, I love their fragrance.

    My favorite is the rose, but they have to be scented. to me a rose is not a rose unless it has a beautiful scent to it. I wish I could grow them. Only have one bush that survived a planting of nine bushes. Makes me more grateful for the one bush I have. Enjoy your blog

    Hi Candy,
    I just love any kind of flower but I would have to say that lilacs are my favourite. I have a white, mauve and purple tree in my backyard and I am so happy when they bloom in the Spring. The smell is absolutely devine. I make up bouquets w my tulips and tie them with a large ribbon and bring them to an old age home where my aunt is. She just turned 101 and it reminds her of her youth and her Mom’s garden (My Grandma).

    I love them all and always plant a variety but lately I’ve been lovin’ the many sunflowers that have sprung up in all of my flower beds. The BIRDS planted them with the seed from the feeder!!! Thanks !

    My favorite are sunflowers. One year I even decorated my Christmas tree with silk sunflowers, instead of a garland . My family thought I was nuts, but I had a smile on my face all Christmastime.

    I would have to say that freesias are my favourite flower - they smell so divine!! I can’t help myself whenever I see them out it the open growing wild just stopping to smell them.

    I LOVE lilacs!! There’s nothing like having your windows open on a warm, spring day, and the scent of lilacs filling your house!! In the winter, I resort to lilac candles!! :)

    Oh that’s really hard, there are so many. But I guess I love hydrangeas best. They are such full blown gorgeous beauties, they dry well to enjoy all winter, easy to grow, there are so many varieties I need a bigger yard and I love the blue and purple and roses colors.
