Wacky Wednesday Challenge #21 Circles…

Published by cwilliams at 4:00 am under Copics, Prism, Rubbernecker, Spellbinders, Wacky Wednesday, cards

Happy Wacky Wednesday!! It’s that time again, for a Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday challenge and Kittie is the Wacky Wednesday hostess for this week. She has challenged us and you to use circles any where on your card and or project. Head over to the Rubbernecker blog to check out all the details.

On my first card I feel like I cheated a little by just using half of a circle, even though there are circles in the polka dot paper. I made a half circle using some Kandi Corp. Rhinestones. I can’t take credit for this card design, I saw it some where just can’t remember where. I do know that I did change a few things…… stamp image, sentiment and I think the ribbon. The flower image was stamped twice, I cut out the whole flower and then the middle of the second flower for some depth and added some white foam boosters on the back for dimension. I colored the flower with my Copic markers.

Here is the second card I made using a Spellbinders circle die to make a circle card. When making a circle card or any other shape card using Spellbinders dies make sure you leave a little of the top of the folded card below the cutting part of the die so the card will fold. I then make a cut out circle to place on top of the circle card, so you don’t see the flat edge(fold) at the top. Did that make sense? I used a ornare piercing template to make the dotted swirls with a pencil and then went over them with a Sakura black gelly roll glaze pen. The “celebrate” and “candle flames” are colored in with a Sakura orange stardust pen, lots of sparkle. I used a lemon atyou Spica pen for the middle of the candle flames. The candles are colored in with Koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. I used a C1 Copic marker for the shadow under the candles and around the word celebrate.

What a pretty flower! Boy, do I ever love the look of the pale pink ribbon against those white on black polka dots. That is one fabulous card! And the birthday candles — oh, my gosh! So fun! I just love those bright colors with all the white. The sentiment is very cool, also. I like the little swirlies in it.
